The AACTB Child Centre Terra Boa 🇨🇻

Our member Gerard found this local grassroots association supporting children from families living in informal settlements in Ilha do Sal. With a focus on help-to-self-help, the association works strictly project-based to strengthen the community and avoid favoritism, providing access to food, education, clean water, and basic healthcare. Our member Priscilla visited the association in mid January.

Organisation supporting migrant, refugee and asylum-seeking women through legal information, empowerment workshops, language help and emergency assistance. They run social and educational initiatives such as the SAĦĦA Community Kitchen, IT literacy training and integration support, combining volunteers with a small coordination team.

Asociația Șansa Ta 🇷🇴

Founded to support low-income families, orphans, and people without shelter through education, social aid, and community programs such as homework help, food support, and emergency assistance. For Christmas, they run the “Smile in a Box” campaign, delivering shoebox gifts with toys and essentials.

⭐ ALTPHILAS participated in a street market and gathered an additional €50 to add to this donation.

Enkenia Food Bank Tbilisi 🇬🇪

Fights hunger in Georgia by collecting surplus food from producers and delivers food to fellow citizens on the verge of starvationand. They set up a food collection and distribution center to support extremely needy families living in Tbilisi and Mtskheta.

We wanted to send 580€, but made an error sending $580,00 USD. The Paypal exchange rate 1.100940625688558 made it €526,82 EUR.

Therefore we sent again 60€ to be sure they receive what was promised!

Volunteer-run initiative from the Netherlands providing daily school lunches for children in Bosnia and essential food packages for families in poverty. In 2024/2025 they supported 364 children and 27 families, with 100% of donations going directly to the cause.

This Streetwork service helps break the cycle of homelessness by providing permanent housing and comprehensive social support, including stable homes and a community café that offers skills training and public engagement. All services are provided free of charge.

We tried to visit but unlukily no one was there on the day we could.

Elected as second with 27% of the votes. The winner of the votin had 31% but refused our donation saying that "it would be more appropriate for you to consider supporting a smaller charity". We thank for the honesty

Founded in 1965 by volunteer Palestinian women in Al-Bireh, this organization provides vital aid to children facing trauma and loss. With growing need, the program is expanding to support 5,000 more children, relying on global generosity to offer relief and build connections across borders.

With our setup complete, website online, and first meeting held, we chose a cat shelter in Athens, Greece as our first donation recipient, inspired by our daily encounters.

Athens Cat Rescue 🇬🇷 rescues stray cats across Athens, many of which are starving, injured, or abandoned. Their website lets you donate or virtually adopt a cat, while direct contact allows for lifetime adoptions. Relying entirely on donations, every contribution makes a difference.

The first six members each contributed €10, bringing the total donation to €60.

From little acorns mighty oaks grow. 🌿
